Have a safe and fun Halloween!

Halloween is a fun time for kids throughout West Virginia. Kids get to dress up as something else and get gobs and gobs of candy! However, when travelling through neighborhoods and knocking on stranger's doors, it is important to remember some things that will keep you safe so that you are able to have a more enjoyable experience on Halloween.

Explosion in Ritchie County leaves one dead

A man is dead and several others injured after an explosion occurred in Ritchie County Monday night. The explosion was reported to 911 just before 10:30 p.m. on East Myles Avenue in Pennsboro, West Virginia. Four fire departments responded to the scene to battle the blaze from the explosion which was under control by 3 a.m. The body of the man killed in the explosion has been sent to the state medical examiner's office in Charleston according to reports from state police. The state police have not yet made a determination as to the cause of the blast.

Fall Driving Safety Tips

Fog, sun glare, frost, and wet leaves are a few driving hazards that drivers will experience this fall. As leaves start to fall from trees, wet leaves on roadways can be very slick. Wet leaves can also make it difficult to see traffic lines and pavement markers. Drivers should slow down on leaf-covered roadways to assist in minimizing a car accident.

Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Implant Recall Lawsuits

On July 6, 2012, Stryker voluntarily recalled its Rejuvenate Modular Hip System and its ABG II Modular-Neck Hip Stem. These devices have been used since June 2008. The Stryker Rejuvenate hip replacement device has been linked to an increased risk of metallosis. While the system is not a metal-on-metal hip device, it has metal-on-metal components, which are believed to cause the development of metallosis in some people. Metallosis is a medical condition involving deposition and build-up of metal debris in the soft tissues of the body.
