Travel Safety: Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is all about having family time, eating turkey, watching football, and sharing stories; but it can come with some surprising dangers. Thanksgiving is the busiest travel time of the year, putting more people on the road and increasing the likelihood of car crashes.

According to the American Automobile Association, over 40 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home during the Thanksgiving weekend with 90% travelling by car. Be sure to allow for extra time when traveling. If you aren’t in a hurry, you won’t be stressed or impatient. Make sure anything in or on your car is secured safely in case you need to brake suddenly. Secure all pets in crates or harnesses.

These are just a few things to keep in mind to avoid a Thanksgiving Day disaster. From Manchin Injury Law Group, our Charleston car accident lawyers would like to wish you and your family a safe and warm Thanksgiving!
